Could there be a space force?

Over the past few months the media has exploded on topic of there being a 6th branch of the military. This idea was circulated after President trump said "Space is a war-fighting domain, just like the land, air and sea," Trump said at the time. "We may even have a space force."
Currently the military has a 600 Billion dollar buget distributed amongst 5 branches. With the Air Force and Navy getting the most funding. Currently the navy funds its own air force and standing armym Who is to say they Couldn't fund their own Space force? Many would argue that the air force should continue working on space operations and that is a good argument. The Air Force currently Runs the show. Is it time for change?
