You never know who you'll meet Pt. 1

You never now who you'll meet in life. Big or Small, it doesn't matter. Every meeting in life is an opportunity to learn and grow as a human being.

Take today for example, I working close shift at our restaurant every Saturday . I enjoy the busy shifts, and with the live music it's usually up beat. We have a couple who have dinner every Saturday. They order the same thing. They have a the same table every weekend . It's like clock work with them. It's not Saturday at Papis with out ken and Peggy having diner.

I checked on the kitchen making sure everything was going well. Talked with Trevor for a few minutes ( we will give you a full post on him later). The. I turned into the dinning room.

I made my rounds. Asking my built in question, how's the mojito, hola como estas, checking on tables and showing my face to the customers. Then I stop to talk to ken and Peggy. I save them for last because I know. The conversation can be 30 seconds, or I can last 30 minutes.

Today was the latter of the two. We did our usually. How are you? The food is great as usually. The. Came the classic "can't wait to see you next weekend. I told them I was opening our new location in Atlanta. We exchanged the I'm going to miss you. I hope the transistion goes well, And the casual small talk.

Through out the conversation, I referenced my time in the military . Ken was born in the early forties. He spoke about the times as a kid when his father was in the army stationed in Germany. He spoke about it the time a man came to his to speak to his father. His father shortly left and tanks begin to roll down the street. He remembers the pills of rocks stacked on the edge of the street from where the tanks had rolled through.

He remembered wall dividing Germany, his father finally coming home for good, and JFK calling himself a jelly donut. You can look it up; it actually happened. I could pick that mans brain for hours. But because the way the world works,I might never get to meet them again..
