My favourite city / Budapest /Citadella

Yesterday we went to Gellért Hill and went up to the Citadella to see the city beautifully ... Citadella Budapest XI. the fortress on the top of Gellért Hill, which was erected in 1854 by the Habsburg ruler after the defeat of the 1848-49 War of Independence. UNESCO, along with the Castle Hill of Buda and the panorama of the two banks of the Danube, declared the Gellért Hill a part of the World Heritage Site in 1987. The statue of Liberty, Zsigmond Kisfaludi Strobl, was erected in 1947 at the base of the fortress's eastern wall.

Tegnap a Gellért hegyen voltunk kirándulni és felmentünk a Citadellához , ahonnan gyönyörűen belátni a várost...A Citadella Budapest XI. kerületében, a Gellért-hegy tetején fekvő erőd, melyet az 1848-49-es szabadságharc leverése után, 1854-ben emelt a Habsburg uralkodó. Az UNESCO a budai Várheggyel és a Duna két partjának panorámájával együtt a Gellért-hegyet 1987-ben a Világörökség részévé nyilvánította.Az erőd keleti, városra néző fala tövében áll a Szabadság-szobor, Kisfaludi Strobl Zsigmond 1947-ben felállított alkotása.
