In places where many people gather to rest, eat, drink, attend any type of event, it should be the most important activity that any hospitality organization should have to guarantee the safety of the guests, employees, visitors and contractor personnel. in some occasions they give inappropriate use of spaces and show misconduct, hence the risks are a constant. For any hotel the realization of a risk prevention plan and control of emergencies to mitigate the dangers that arise in the event of a fire, represents the provision of a complete service, quality and customer satisfaction.

Lo seres humanos en forma constante estamos expuestos a las amenazas existentes en su entorno. Añadido a esta vulnerabilidad, el uso inapropiado de los espacios y su conducta a menudo indebida, hacen que los riesgos resulten una forma constante presente en nuestras vidas diaria. Tanto los sucesos naturales como los derivados por la actividad humana(Factores antrópicos), son causas de emergencias y desastres en todo el mundo.
Tener un plan prevención de los riesgos y control de las emergencias para mitigar los peligros en caso de incendio es saber dar respuestas. En los lugares donde se reúnen muchas personas para descansar, comer, beber, asistir a cualquier tipo de eventos, debería ser la actividad mas importante que cualquier organización del ramo hotelero debería tener para garantizar la seguridad de los huéspedes empleados, visitantes y personal contratista que en algunas ocasiones le dan el uso inapropiado de los espacios y muestran una conducta indebida, de allí que los riesgos resultan una constante. Para cualquier hotel la realización de un plan de prevención de los riesgos y control de las emergencias para mitigar los peligros que se presentan en caso de un incendio, representa la prestación de un servicio completo, de calidad y la satisfacción del cliente.
Sin embargo esto no sucede de esta manera,cuando se presenta el evento no deseado nosotros seremos los primeros en activar nuestra respuesta de autoprotección por tal motivo debemos conocer que hacer para salvarnos o proteger nuestras vidas y la de nuestra familia.
Existe un amplio marco legal y normativo relacionado con los planes de emergencia y contingencias que deben ser puesto a prueba y ajustado por quienes pueden generar o ser afectados por este tipo de situaciones. La preparación para la atención de emergencia y contingencia es una actividad que debe llevarse a cabo indistintamente del tamaño del riesgo que ésta genere, pues todas la personas sin excepción estamos expuestos a enfrentar eventos internos o externos que causen o tengan el potencial para causar lesiones,daños.

Es de resaltar que ninguna persona no se escape de cualquier evento no deseado en cualquier situación política, social, económica o natural, ya sea provocado por inescrupulosos o por cualquier causa, lo interesante es estar preparado, tener un plan de prevención de los riesgos y control de emergencias en caso de incendio para mitigar los peligros que pudiera ocasionar.
En general, cuando las personas se ven inmersas en una situación de emergencia de este tipo toman las decisiones equivocadas, y tiende de una manera instintiva a refugiarse.
La importancia de este tema radica en incorporar nuevas estrategias y el desarrollo de las habilidades en la población steemita que hace vida casi constantemente en los hoteles, de esta manera permíteles manejar técnicas que le ayuden actuar en caso de un evento no deseado.

Es de suma importancia, con fines preventivos, que sepamos cómo actuar en el hipotético caso que nos toque vivir un incendio en el hotel donde estemos alojados y conocer de antemano cuales son las medidas de seguridad contra incendios que tenemos que adoptar.Los expertos señalan ciertas condiciones mínimas de seguridad que se deben tomar para reducir el riesgo de sufrir lesiones durante un incendio en un hotel”
A continuación 15 recomendaciones al ingresar al hotel.
- Al ingresar al hotel, visualizar el sistema de detección de incendios y los equipos de extinción.(estos equipos tiene luces intermitente cuando están activos)
- Reservar una habitación en los pisos bajos del 03 piso hacia abajo, si el hotel cuenta con más de 4 plantas de altura. (será mas rápido evacuar hasta planta baja , la escaleras del carro de bombero pueden llegar hasta usted)
- Como medidas de prevención y seguridad personal, llevar en el equipaje de mano, una linterna, para el caso que se corte el suministro eléctrico o ante el peligro de encender la luz, si olemos humo o gas en la habitación del hotel.
- Al ingresar a la habitación, ver si hay un plano de evacuación “Ud. está aquí”, visualizarlo y leer detenidamente las indicaciones.
- Visualizar las vías de evacuación y su señalización.(observar si están despejadas)
- Conocer la salida de emergencia más cercana al cuarto, teniendo en cuenta que, en caso de necesitarlo, se deberá hacer el camino de salida a oscuras o un ambiente gris.
- Visulizar y memorizar la ruta de salida, contando las puertas que lo separan de la de las escaleras de emergencia.
- Llevar un silbato
- Usar paño húmedo con agua en cara
- Desalojar siempre por el lado derecho al usar las escalera de emergencia.
- No usar los ascensores
- No correr
- Tener calma
- Abra lentamente la puerta y cerciórese de que el incendio y/o el humo no estén bloqueando su ruta de escape
- Coloque una sabana blanca en la ventana para avisar que esta allí, esto es una señal de socorro internacional.
