I'm gonna put on my tinfoil hat for a moment.
The New Mexico gun control order might have just been a distraction.
California, New York, and New Jersey are all passing laws that are effectively the same thing -- only permanent. They're just more devious about it.
New Mexico tried to outright ban the carrying of firearms in public. That was so blatantly unconstitutional that it was doomed on arrival.
What the other states are doing is setting up a minefield.
They're trying to make it illegal to carry a gun in the parking lot of a strip mall with one restaurant that serves alcohol, even if the person with the gun is completely sober. New York specifically is trying to get around the Bruen decision by saying, "Okay, you have a right to carry. You just can't carry in these places. By the way, these places are all of the places that you need to cross through to get from point A to point B."
This shouldn't be tolerated.
All of these governors should be out of office.
