ROM (Read Only Memory)
Hi Steemit World!!!
Today I will share with you that what’ the ROM actually is….

Another type on memory user will find on the motherboard is ROM. ROM stands for read only memory. The computer manufacturers use this type of chip to store specific instructions that are needed for the computer operations. Rom is nonvolatile memory. The information which is frequently required by a computer and need not to be changed is kept on ROM. Information remain on the chip regardless if the power is turned on or off.

The most common of these is the BIOS ROM. The computer uses instructions contained on this chip to boot or start the system when you turn on your computer. A computer can read from a ROM chip, but cannot write or store data on the chip that is why ROM chips have programs built into them at factory. For example, ROM instructions may start the computer, give keyboard keys their special control capabilities, and put characters on the screen. That’s all what the ROM actually is.
