Body language vs. verbality

Did you know that it only takes 7 seconds to judge someone subconsciously? This means we don't have much time to impress someone before they evaluate us. And you only make a first impression once.

Did you know that 70 percent of ‘speech' is body language and 30 percent is verbal?

According to studies if you use strong and conscious body language it can change hormones and behavior in a way that other people will see you are truly strong and confident.

You don't need to be a superhero. You should just act like one.

POWER POSING

"Wonder Woman" pose

A conscious, confident pose when you put both hands on your hips. Confident stride, good posture, hands on hips. It might seem funny at first when you look at yourself in the mirror, but it's worth practicing because it will have an effect on you.
Beyoncé is doing it, Oprah is doing it, just to mention a few Super Women
This pose is not about what you transmit to others it's about what you communicate to yourself. Body language will change the way you think, which will change how you present yourself.
In the video above famous psychologist, Amy Cuddy shows the secret of power posing, and she says if we have a confident posture it will affect our testosterone, and cortisol levels in our brains even if we are not so self-assured and this will probably have an effect on our success as well.

Three basic power poses

No. 1. Use the space
Stretch yourself as much as possible, use the space. Straighten yourself, be comfortable, hold your arms next to your body in a relaxed way and try to look as big as possible. This kind of body language oozes power and dominance.

No. 2. Have a firm handshake

In business life, some women are judged by their handshake. Women with a weak handshake are considered more passive and less confident than their male counterparts.

No. 3. Before a job interview

Using the power pose throughout an interview might seem offensive and arrogant for the interviewer. Before the meeting, you can give yourself a boost, and raise your hormone levels with it. You can do it if you are home or in the elevator or even in the restroom before the interview, just raise your hands up to the air, stretch and open them up like a big crowd is celebrating your success and you are their hero standing in front of them.
