Bangladesh trumped the Champions Trophy shocks that went before by knocking 2015 World Cup runners-up New Zealand out of the tournament – and can now add Australia to the casualty list with England's help.

Following surprise successes for Pakistan and Sri Lanka earlier in the week, Mashrafe Mortaza's team were on the canvas at 33 for four, chasing 266 for victory, but - inspired by their return to Cardiff, scene of their famous one-day win over Australia 12 years ago – fought back through Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah hundreds to seal a dramatic five-wicket heist.

They will join England in the semi-finals unless Australia win the final Group A match between the Ashes rivals on Saturday.
