Netflix just increased the subscription prices
It didn't come as a surprise, especially considering how Netflix recently has produced awesome original movies with some of the hottest actors in Hollywood. Still, none likes to pay more for a service, but it probably came as a necessity,
The new price for the standard subscription to Netflix is now 13 USD instead of 11 USD. The price for the basic package went up with 12%, the standard package with 18% and the premium package with 14%.
I don't like paying more, but I guess this just had to come! I am, however, curious to see how the arrival of the new Disney streaming platform at the end of 2019 will influence the amount of Netflix subscribers. If it comes much cheaper, but with great content, it might cause a decline in subscribers to Netflix, but only time will show if that is so.
This is hardly surprising. Netflix expanded its production exponentially in recent times and now makes more feature films than all major Hollywood studios combined. While many of those are low or mid budget, they, together with original TV shows, require a lot of resources that would create financial black hole for any company other than Netflix with its large number of subscribers.
I agree... so I feel like they deserve the price increase :)
