The FCC killed net neutrality, so now, let's kill Verizon Wireless.

in #net6 years ago

The FCC killed net neutrality. Lets sit back and watch what the ISP's do next.

What fresh hell will be thrust upon us?

What will the first FUCK YOU! be that will roll down the pipe?

Will we see specific streaming sites turn to shit?

Will we hear stories of ISP's holding companies at gunpoint for fast lanes?

How will the little guy get choked out and left to die, gasping for bandwidth?

How will pricing models change?

Will we see new bundled streaming packages so you have to pay more or get stuck watching low res vids buffer?

Will we see cable companies do with current programming packages for cable, on the internet, where they will slow down sites and then charge to make them faster? They will make everything a slow lane unless you pay for the fast ones.
There will be a premium lane package for Netflix, a separate one for Hulu, a separate one for HBO, or you can sacrifice your first born for all the fast lanes.

Now they can get a piece of the action, turning our internet super highway, into an information suck ass tollway.

Will they throttle VPN connections?

Will click and mortar companies who work 100% remotely be held hostage?

Will they throttle cloud connections to amazon cloud, office 365, etc..?

The door is now open, and there are a million kinds of ways to screw people over. A handful of government employees made this decision that most every American is against. Millions spoke up. They don't give a single shit about anyone but themselves and the buttloads of cash they will no doubt receive when they move on to C-level positions, boards of companies, and all the other methods of legal bribery.

2017 has been the year of the corporate cash grab.

We have become dependant on the internet for our shopping, communication, entertainment, financial transactions, news, social interaction, and working from home.

So, what do we do about it?

Step #1
As soon as your verizon contract is up. Switch.
Let's start by killing verizon. They spent the most money to destroy net neutrality.
In 91 Days I will be switching.

Sort:

It's not just Verizon, but all ISP companies will be an issue and have lobbied for this. Verizon goes down another will take its place

Pick a target. I picked verizon. They did not actually spend the most money, so that was not correct. I looked at a graph, but have since seen other articles.

Hey there! Having a reliable, high-quality wireless service provider is of utmost importance. Verizon Wireless is the clear leader in this regard, offering unparalleled network coverage and exceptional customer service. Moreover, their tariff plans are among the best, and if you call verizon wireless phone number or contact them online, they will be happy to recommend a tariff plan that will suit all the needs and wishes of the client.
