Kominfo Still Waiting Explanation from Facebook | we support @neoxian as a witness

The Ministry of Communications and Informatics (Kemkominfo) claimed not satisfied with Facebook's explanation related to data leak scandal owned by 1,096,666 users in Indonesia and still waiting for further answers from the social media company.

Kemkominfo said there are two explanations that are still awaited from Facebook. First, whether Facebook will provide early warning of information to the user can their data misused.

Second, clear kominfo, Facebook has not explained the potential misuse of user data from third party applications to Kemkominfo.

In addition Kemkominfo also asked Facebook to explain the structure of responsibility in case of abuse of personal data users in Indonesia.

Ministry of Communications and Informatics confirms Facebook to comply with legislation or regulations that apply in Indonesia.

Kemkominfo acknowledged that Facebook, via Facebook's Head of Data Protection Ireland, has sent a letter explaining the steps taken in the scandal of user data leakage.

In the letter, Facebook claims to have done an audit of the leakage of user data, but the results have not been submitted in full and detailed to the Government of Indonesia.

Second, Facebook has provided information about third-party access in a scandal involving British political analysis company, Cambridge Analytica. Finally, Facebook has updated its policy to prevent third parties from retrieving user data.
