What is the source of negative thoughts in mind? Root cause

You might think, negative thoughts just come to your mind and you can’t do anything as it is out of your control. But this is not true. You create your thoughts. And hence, you have control over them too. You just need to train your mind to think positive thoughts like it is trained to think negative.

Let’s understand it with an example:
When you eat something which is not healthy for your body and when continue eating junk, unhealthy foods then, after some time you get ill. Similarly, in this digital world, a lot of information is being fed into our mind and the quality of information we consume from TV, newspaper, listening, reading, watching or talking decides which type of thoughts our mind will create. Our mind is like a machine that produces output depending upon input.

Hence, it is important to feed your mind with positive information like reading self-help books, god related books, good positive quotes, surrounding yourself with positive people, listening to good music. Negative thoughts come more to a person who knowingly or unknowingly consuming negative news and information whether from TV, surrounding or the internet. It all affects the thinking pattern of our mind.

What to do now?
Be aware of the diet of your mind. Do not read negative news of the newspaper first in the morning. In the morning, listen to god songs, reading a spiritual or positive book, repeating positive affirmations, positive self-talk, avoid negative people or distance yourself a little bit, avoiding unnecessary negative social media posts before reading, avoid reading WhatsApp fake violent news. Positive gyaan as breakfast to our mind will keep our mind the healthy whole day.

Remember what you are reading, listening to and saying is going to create some type of thoughts in your mind. Focus your mind on the positive side of people and life in general. Once information got in the mind, then it can’t be deleted. This is the source problem. If you correct this, negative thoughts will lessen in your mind. It will take time to form a new habit but 2-3 months of hard work can change your entire life and will give peace to your mind. It is not easy but possible.
