I would have never imagined that these colours and the pattern could work together, but they do <3 The sock is amazing, especially the cable part looks beautiful. But the yarn ends… I feel you… I also have these nearly finished pair of striped socks made from scrap yarn, but I am too annoyed with all the yarn ends, that I do not finish them. SIGH
I wish you a lovely time at steam camp and hope you will write about it (and I would take crochet and knitting with me :-D)
