NeedleworkMonday: Half a scarf / Ein halber Schal [Eng/Ger]
What's on my needles
Some of you might remember my first Steemit post nearly five months ago (if not, click on the image below) which was a NeedleworkMonday post. There I told you why I didn't work further on the scarf shown there but started new with a different pattern.
Today I want to show you my progress. I have to admit I didn't get very far: you have to concentrate on what you're doing - no distractions allowed - and we had a long heatwave this summer where knitting with warm wool was unbearable. So only 78cm right now, which is nearly halfway done. Next winter it'll be ready to be worn :)

Einige von euch können sich vielleicht an meinen ersten Steemit-Post erinnern vor fast fünf Monaten (auch ein NeedleworkMonday-Post) in dem ich erzählt habe wieso ich einen bereits begonnenen Schal nicht weitergestrickt habe sondern mit einem anderen Muster neu angefangen (Bild unten ist ein Link zum Post).
Jetzt will ich aber mal zeigen wie weit ich gekommen bin. Nicht sehr weit, dieser Sommer war zu warm um daran zu arbeiten, aber immerhin 78 cm. Das ist nicht ganz die Hälfte, nächsten Winter wird er wohl fertig sein damit ich ihn tragen kann :)

Wow, indeed lots of concentration required to avoid mistakes there, @muscara...
Of course when finished they will become like heirlooms :D
Such a complicated pattern... No wonder you need time and concentration (and less than 39 degrees) for this. The shawl will be a treasure when you are finished (or you simply sew it into a smaller cowl - will be very fast :-D)
Meine volle Bewunderung gehört dir! Ich bin noch nie gut in Handarbeit gewesen... alles feine und ordentliche liegt mir nicht so, wobei ich das schon toll finde, wenn man sich Socken selbst stricken könnte ;-) Ich gebe allerdings auch oft sehr früh auf - bei meinem Sockenversuch habe ich an der Hacke irgendwie genau falsch herum abgenommen und sie war urkomisch, was mich dann aufhören lässt. Im Gegensatz zu dir greife ich das nicht nach Monaten noch einmal auf... Hut ab und gut strick! LG Kadna
Ich hab mich in der Schule auch nur mit Müh und Not und lieb lächeln auf ne Vier gerettet - ich fand das sooooooo schrecklich. Aber irgendwann hab ich einfach angefangen damit und mich reingefuchst und Sachen ausprobiert bis sie geklappt haben. Und wirklich schnell oder so bin ich immer noch nicht - wie gesagt, ich sitze seit Mai an dem Schal ;)
Totally agree with you. Seems cold knitting days will be back soon. Knitting party!
When my daughter is up, I knit my black swear with only "k" in the morning time and my socks in the evening time "k p k p ..." No complicated ones.
Talking about socks, recently I also started second one :)
wow !!!!! what a beauty!!! if I knitted a scarf with such a pattern, I would knit it for ten years :))) this is a very difficult job
