Needleworkmonday - table runners

in #needleworkmonday6 years ago

I have something to post for #Needleworkmonday this week so here goes.

For a Star Wars game I will be running this coming weekend I needed to make a couple table runners for decor. We picked up some fabric that looked like it would work.

I started off by pinning one side.

And sewing it.

Then I pinned another side to sew.

And so on until all four sides were folded under and sewn.

Then I did the same to the other fabric.

When I finished the runners I decided to hem some lounging pants.

Thinking I was done I started to pack the sewing machine away. @jamethiel had other ideas and brought me two blankets she wanted sewn to make them each half the size but twice the thickness. So I did.

And then I actually was done.

Nice work! 👍🏽

Have fun with your game this weekend!

The fabric really is perfect for Star Wars, lucky you got such fitting fabric. I admire you for enduring hemming and working on blankets, I only have patience for clothes. I guess I do not like to sew, only to get more clothes :-DDD
I wish you fun with the game.

The hardest, and most time consuming, part is pinning the things together. The sewing takes little time compared to that. I was given some clips that will take the place of the pins in the future so it should be faster next time.

I saw these clips in a Japanese magazine and some time later they got also known here and I tried them. Sadly my expectations were very high and I did not found them so much easier to use than needles. I am curious how your experience is?

I love the Star Wars fabric!
