#Needleworkmonday# Let's work together

in #needleworkmonday8 years ago

Hi needlework friends,😊

Cold weather forces us to stay in our houses.
Cleaning and storing food are just a part of everyday women's life.
Many women pay great attention to Handwork, the embroidery of gobelins,
kniting and crocheting in the winter.

EMBROIDERY OF GOBELINS ,

In our country embroidery of gobelins is very popular, especially the Wiehler's gobelins,
so we change our patterns and threads for the embroidery ....

These days I got an offer from my good friend to help her find the threads for some goblins.
It's a very hard work, because there are lots of color shades.

These are photographs of my search for shades and how finished gobelin
looks like.
Hope you will enjoy the photos.

photos finished gobelin are taken from the Wiehler catalog

German threads

Wiehler Gobelin has its own special colors and only uses old German threads Mez and Shurer.
It is very difficult to find these threads today because all factories for their production are closed.
In recent times, many women in gobelin making use DMC threads, cause it's quality is quite good ...

German thread colors are very resistant to water and to high temperatures,
after that, when finished - you can wash and dry it.

Each color has seven shades and goes from brighter to darker ones ...
There may not be a large color spectrum like a DMC thread but the quality is excellent ....

Thank you for sharing photos of your search and also the information about German threads! Which gobelin will she start on first?

I hope that I will make her come to steemit, but there is one problem. She does not know the English ... But I told her to photograph her gobelins ... And I think she will work with Iphigenie because she saw mine finished ...

Oh I understand. Well we would love to see them if you share them with us ;)

How cool it is!!! Excellent work)
