Crochet Curtain
Hello fellow needlework enthusiasts! I am nearly 2/3 done with my filet crochet pantry curtain.
Last week...
Today...
The daily progress seems small but taking a picture every Monday really helps me see how far it has come.
Thank you for following my progress. It looks like 3 more weeks and I will be done...mabe 2 if I hurry!
That's incredible! What a neat idea to make a curtain like that for your pantry. It's going to look lovely when it's done. Are you going all the way to the floor or will you leave a space?
Thank you. I will likely try to make it end a few inches from the floor. My worry is that it will stretch over time and I don't want it to be too long.
That's coming along nicely. Really beautiful. I don't crochet but I'm going to try knitting lace at some point.

I can crochet - (which oddly enough gets a look of surprised followed by some kind of admiration from most people). I find it easier than knitting. That said, I think your curtain is absolutely awesome. Akin to lacemaking and beautiful. I can honestly say I've never migrated from the baby bootees and summer cardigans or hats but I might have to look into doing something different after seeing this.!
It isn't any more difficult than the projects you've done...just more time consuming! In fact, filet crochet, especally somwthing flat like this, is probably easier! It's just working with the finer thread that takes some getting used to. The tension can be tricky.
I'm still so impressed by this! I think you are going faster than I would be! :)
An hour a day is really all I put into it. Unless I miss a day....then I do make it up the next day!
You're reading my mind! I just wanted to say, that it seems, that the progress is not so great, but how much work is behind it. When I was a little girl, I often wanted to tie something big, a scarf, a knitted snake, but then I started and realized, that it was necessary to knit and knit...

So true! That is why it has taken me so long to take on a large project. I hate leaving things unfinished and I knew this would require some determination to complete. But looking at that opened pantry for so long was the motivation that I needed to get started!
My goodness. That looks like a labour of love. I can see how taking a picture every week would spur you on. That's a great idea!
Since I started to share my activities on Steemit I find that it is a great motivator! People here are very encouraging! 😀
That's good to hear @anise. I've started sharing a bit of my art and once shared the baby blanket I knitted for my grandson.
I'm not sure how it will go though as I also share photography and poetry. People that like one won't necessarily like the other. It's early days for me so I'm still finding my way. My inclination is just to post what I like and see what happens! 😁
One helpful thing I've found is to find people whose posts you like and follow them upvoting their posts and comments to you. Hopefully they will do the same and the give and take will help your reputation score as well as your wallet. I find if I follow too many people it's hard to keep up so I go thru and try to keep the ones that I can develop a rapport with. (following you now😀)
Yes. Thanks @anise. I'm doing the same but I keep getting carried away with my upvoting. 😊 Recently my VP was down at 30% so I've been trying to upvote less and rebuild it a bit.
It feels a long old haul to get to 50SP so I can use the slider. Then I'll be able to vote more often. At the moment it's impossible for me to limit myself to just 8 upvotes a day which is what seems to be recommended.
I seem to go a bit upvote mad and then have to calm myself down but my posting and commenting is consistent so I'll get there in the end! 😊
