Summer jacket for my daughter / 子どもの夏のカーディガン

My daughter grew a lot and I was surprised to find only one summer jacket fits to her. Most of the time she just wear a T-shirt but she need a light summer jacket in the morning time to go day care.

We went to see a second hand shop but couldn't find an ideal one. So it's time to sew one ... as always 😄

I quickly thought about knitting it but I decided to sew it as it may take a while to knit it with thin summer yarn.

I made some changes on a cardigan pattern from a Japanese sewing book. This is the only kids clothes book I have and I like it a lot. I sewed a pant, shirts and T-shirt so far.

It worked well and seems my daughter likes it. I tried to take photo when my daughter wears it but she was too active ... here is the best one 😅

Now I feel safe that I can wash her current one when she makes unexpected stains etc.

このところ急に暑くなって、子どもが朝晩羽織れる軽めの夏の上着がひとつしかない・・・・・・！この一年でずいぶん大きくなったらしく去年来ていたものは軒並みサイズアウトしていました。

古着屋さんを見に行くも、思い通りのものがなく、新品で気に入ったものを買おうとすると断然布代よりも高くて、ならば私の遊びも兼ねて縫おうとダブルガーゼの布を買ってきました。

去年お土産に日本で買って来た美濃羽まゆさんの『男の子にも女の子にも、作ってあげたい服』のカーディガンの型紙をアレンジして作りました。

この本はこれまでにもサルエルパンツや三角カットソー、シャツなどを縫って気に入っています。下のカットソーもこの本のシャツのパターンをアレンジしたものです。

今回の上着は適当に作った割にはうまくできて、子どもも気に入ってくれた様子です。上の英語の投稿の中に貼りましたが、一瞬でも止まって写真を撮らせてくれず。。

何はともあれ私は洗い替えができて一安心しました w いつか秋冬用に本の通りカーディガンを作ってみたいです。とはいえカーディガンやセーターはいっぱいあるので、数年後かな。

そんなこんなの2週間ぶりの針仕事の月曜日でした。
