Before the next sweater...

in #needlework6 years ago

I always believe in an instant gratification project prior to a big one (like the sweater my wife now wants after seeing my tunic). I used a hand dyed supper-wash Moreno my wife bought two years ago because she wanted a hat. She bought 500 yards of yarn for me to make one hat. Go ahead and laugh, I already did. I made the hat and for two years just looked at this yarn attempting to decide what I wanted to do with it. These boot socks are from a Knitting Pure and Simple pattern. These socks are warm as hell and soft and dense. They may very well become my next cabin socks.

Only the 500 yards? Hehe, sounds like me 😍
Socks look great, I don't make enough of them.

Love the yarn, love the socks. This kind of socks are called "Stino" in German, abbreviation for "stinknormal". It roughly translates to standard - in a perhaps boring, but at the same time homey and familiar way. The quintessence of socks :)

Thats really interesting. I love learning knitting histories about things. Thanks for responding.

Those socks look really warm and cozy and love that color! 😍

Thanks for sharing the process pics with us!
