@ned new project?
Our fair leader @ned has teased at a new project called “destiny”. I wish he would have gave more details about it. Still wasn’t too clear on if it will be separate from the Steem blockchain or not because he called it a “new product”. In the post it didn’t seem to be separate from steem but at the same time it kind of did. I’m excited nevertheless. Well as long as it’s on Steem. What do you guys think it is?

I mean he said it has something to do with Communities.. Which is something Steemit has needed for awhile, but I don't see why he would build it OFF the Steem blockchain. 🤔
Because he's milked this cow already @stealthtrader, and now he feels it's time to do it again... that's how these ICO boys work.

I think he is trying to get out from under the shadow of @dan by building "his own thing". I also believe that this new company is going to be a "proof of concept" project for SMT so that when SMT launch with this Destiny Project ready to go, other businesses/groups who are considering creating an SMT will see that it can be done successfully.
Whether this is good/bad/indifferent for STEEM is yet to be seen. I do feel that being the CEO of two separate entities that work within the same space is a bit of a conflict of interests, as it is human nature to pick a favorite and play sides. Destiny being "Ned's baby" is likely to be the favorite when it comes to choices between Destiny and STEEM.
I think the way to play it is to keep Steeming on, and also join Destiny when it releases next year. The lure of being a first mover on a new project is too rich to pass up. Look at some of the whales we have here, who are whales only because they were here first and vote values were scaled so out of whack.
As long as there is no discernible conflict between STEEM and Destiny, then using both will be a no brainer. But I guess we just have to take a wait and see approach to all that.

personally, in my opinion, I think that Steemit needs some more incentives and inspirational promotions, which would enthuse people to engage more into communal activities and attract more new members.
IMO STEEM has value only as long as there is a community which supports it and places value into it, i.e. believes in it!

@trevonjb, I don't know why the leaders of most of these altcoin talk in philosophical terms. Some times I listen very well to understand but I just leave it to people like you to decipher and then I follow. Lol.
Probably realizes Steem is a dying project, and wants a new cash cow just like Dan did.
