I don't personally like wearing glasses but then I have no choice. Being nearsighted means I have to even if I don't want to. Doctors call it "myopia"

What is myopia?

Otherwise known as nearsightedness, myopia occurs when the eye grows
too long from front to back. Instead of focusing images on the
retina—the light-sensitive tissue in the back of the eye—the lens of
the eye focuses the image in front of the retina. People with myopia
have good near vision but poor distance vision.

People with myopia can typically see well enough to read a book or
computer screen but struggle to see objects farther away. Sometimes
people with undiagnosed myopia have headaches and eyestrain from
struggling to clearly see things in the distance.

Give me something to read, I'll read it. Just make sure it's within my eyes' capability. Yes, it's really a struggle. People with perfect vision may not well relate to this.

Struggle #1
People think that you are snob, when in fact you cannot just see them.
A cousin scolded me when I did not respond him waving at me across the street. Imagine the distance? I can see a cloudy image of him, not the details of his face. It's really a struggle. Sometimes, it helps if the posture looks familiar.

Struggle #2
At some point in your life, you have mistaken a person that you do not know for being one of your close friends. You even mistakenly waved at someone.
A friend can well relate to this. When we were still in college, she mistakenly grabbed a girl's hand only to find out she didn't know her. Embarrassing, right?

Struggle #3
People think that you are a nerd just because you wear glasses.
This holds true in the olden days. But today, even young ones are already wearing glasses either for correction or just fashion. It's no longer a big deal today.

Struggle #4
During rainy days and when you are sweating real hard
Imagine the struggle of wiping your glasses again and again because of the rain and adjusting it because it slips off your nose as you sweat.

Struggle #5
When you watch a movie, you got to be at the front.
In my case, during seminars or meetings when there are powerpoint presentations or anything that uses the projector, I need to be in front or else I'll miss out.

There are still many struggles that a nearsighted experience everyday. For our comfort, it's best to wear eyeglasses than risk our eyes.
