THE KINDNESS WE GIVE, ALWAYS COMES BACK TO US
I remembered some years back, just rounding up my diploma program in a catholic training institute back then in one of the fastest growing states in Nigeria - Onitsha. It was such a wonderful moment for me, knowing and believing I was no longer going to be asking my parents for money any longer and fully assured that I was going to be provided with a good place for my industrial attachment. I was confident enough because, I was one of the best graduating students and at a sitting, I cleared my National Technical Certificate Examination (NTC) With A's and C's, also graduating with an Upper Credit grade, I felt their was no way I will not be able to secure a better place at least for a start. The final day for the posting finally arrived and I was posted to a Tomato producing company and on getting there, the place was locked and I went back the next day and still met the place locked. Finally, another place was given to me and I spent six Months working for them. It was quite a unique place, though, it was an engineering company and I put in all my best to make sure I delivered. At the end of my training that lasted for six months, I was told by my Director that I was quite impressive and that they will like to negotiate with me after my graduation maybe for permanent employment offer, I don't know. It was okay but I needed something or a place more better: lets say an oil company or better still an oil servicing company. After my graduation, I was reposted to a state of my dream and that was Port Harcourt still in the city of Nigeria, To cut a long story short, I left the Engineering Company and decided to work with the Bank. I was invited for an interview and I did make it to the final list and then I was given an appointment. The problem showed up when I was told to move to a state called Akwa Ibom - it was a state with so many controversies. I struggled and begged my employers to please repost me to another state but all to no avail. Since I had no other choice, I decided to move. But the problem is I was to source for my accommodation and I had no idea on how to go about this. While I was still pondering, I remembered I had a friend back then in school who was from that state. I quickly put a call across , He was very happy and he promised linking me to his friend who will accommodate me for few days. The friend agreed and I was happy then I set out for the journey. On my arrival to the state, I tried calling his lines but all was switched off. I tried getting across to my friend who also tried his line and had same experience. I was stranded never knew what to do. While we were still pondering and confused on what to do, I asked him, this your state, don't you have any relative or anybody here? He said yeah, my elder sister, but she stays very far from the location. She told the Elder Sister about me and she accepted. I went to her place and they welcomed me, I got refreshed, dropped my bag with them headed to the Bank. Everything went fine and finally I came back. They took care of me and I spent two good weeks with them. Weeks turned Months and Months Years and finally its fourteen years now. The two kids I came to meet in that house have all grown and are in higher institutions about to graduate. But the beautiful thing is that we leave now as a family, you can't believe except you are told that we are not of the same blood. I started working and started contributing to there welfare and now we are one big happy family today. So the Good we give out there always has a way of coming back to us. Thank you and don't forget to encourage me by liking the post
