Alvin Gentry : "Anthony Davis is a Great Kid". No Bad Words for me to Say.

Alvin Gentry and Anthony Davis' relationship has been built very strong for years. Through their partnership, the New Orleans Pelicans in fact reached the NBA Western Conference Semi-finals, losing to Golden State.

Since Day 1, Anthony Davis has been in the hands of Gentry when he was picked as the number one overall pick for the Pelicans back in 2012. Back then, his numbers are monstrous and has always been the go-to guy for the Pelicans when baskets are needed. Davis was strong on both offensive and defensive ends.

However with his departure to Los Angeles Lakers where he joined Lebron James in Staples Center, some hated his decisions leaving New Orleans. But it wasn't that much because Lakers offered a strong young guns on his behalf. They were able to acquire Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, and three first-round picks.

It wasn't a bad deal at all. Los Angeles Lakers made a huge gamble there to acquire Davis. It was a huge lump-sum deal that every team will really be tempted to get. Plus, they got the number 1 overall pick potential to replace Davis and it was Zion Williamson.

As per Pelcans coach Alvin Gentry, there were no bad words for him to say. Anthony Davis was a great kid and as a player , they've made Pelicans as a strong contender to the playoffs. If it's his decision to be traded, then let him be. He deserves to do decisions for himself and that he has served great years for the Pelicans. It's time to follow his pursuit.
