What If Derrick Rose Never Tore His ACL?

in #nba7 years ago

I was just randomly thinking how sad it really is that D-Rose tore his ACL in 2012. I mean for his legacy anyway. That injury really changed the entire outlook of the league for YEARS. D-Rose was MVP. He was a beast driving in the lane strong and explosive. D-Rose was super legit I hope people don't forget.

Look at this dude.

Him and that Bulls team were ready to take on that Heat team I believe. Boozer, Butler, Gibson. Hamilton, Noah. That team was really good, the #1 seed.

I live in Pennsylvania and I am a Sixers fan. I actually went to Game 3 of that first round series and saw just how depleted and devastating that injury was for that team. The #8 seed Sixers beat that team without D-Rose that night. Sixers took the series in 6.

That year LeBron won his first title. Interesting. Does LeBron have a ring with a healthy and never injured D-Rose? Does he have any rings? In an alternate universe LeBron tears his ACL and D-Rose takes over the league.

These memes were funny for awhile. But still.

As an NBA fan it is crazy to think about. Nowadays Lil Pump is bringing his name back around at least.

It's honestly really sad.

One single event changed the entire league's balance of power for years. A potential dynasty we never saw materialize. Tragedy.

you're making steemit a great community with your content dadapizza! keep it up!

You too steemking777! Thank you

He was good ,but it is what it is. In Nyk he struggled ,but I was much better than Chihuahua(Noah) ...super overrated Chihuahua 😂

Rose was a beast!!! Haha yeah he was a lil overrated but he had a few good years lmao

My personal favorite DRose meme is General Soreness BUT as a Bulls fan, I'm happy for him that he's playing in Cleveland. Decent fit, chance to start, chance to play in meaningful games.

DRose is immensely talented but has been taken down a few pegs physically. He injuries totally messed with his mindset but being on the bottom, he did have the drive to be great, last 5 years he's been complacent - we will see if he can take another step in the right direction.

yes I am definitely happy for him as well. Who would have guessed before his injury that D-Rose and LebRon would one day become teammates. Crazy! This is his best and final shot to get a ring and maybe capture a tiny bit of that greatness he once had.

He was so playing out of his mind during that MVP year. Crazy to think back then I considered him far better than Westbrook.

Yeah man it is a super tragedy that he got injured like that.. he really was! I remember he would cover the basketball like a football and drive inside tough as nails. He was a beast. Definitely still might have been better than Westbrook today had he not gotten hurt

Probably a 3x MVP and a champion. Thanks for following @dadapizza followed you now. #upvoteforupvote

This is the kind of article we like, alternative thinking. It's ALSO interesting LeBron came VERY close to winning only ONE championship.
He "got away with one" against Tim Duncan's Spurs.
He benefitted from Draymond Green suspension AND Andrew Bogut injury in 2016.
This is NOT a post to say he's not a fantastic basketball player-- just along the lines of your article and how life can play out in an alternate universe.

Awesome I appreciate the compliment and in depth comment!! I totally agree with you! Yes sometimes just a couple of plays can be the difference between a championship and second place.
