Swish Weekly - December 4th
Swish Weekly December 4th
A great week in NBA content over the last few days. You'll see content consistently from a few different sources since I've found they have some of the highest quality writing on the web. If you have suggestions for other places I should be looking, feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected] with your suggestions. Let's get into it!

Deer Pressure: The Bucks' Defense is Clicking, but for How Much Longer? - The Ringer - Kevin O'Connor
This great piece by Ringer author Kevin O'Connor is a fantastic breakdown of the blitzing Milwaukee Bucks defensive scheme that has become a force to be reckoned with since the addition of point guard Eric Bledsoe. O'Connor also delves into the possibility of Milwaukee acquiring Clippers center DeAndre Jordan. A solid defensive breakdown for anyone that loves watching gamble heavy defenses.

2018 NBA Mock Draft 2.0: Will Bigs Dominate the Lottery? - Sports Illustrated - Jeremy Woo
I know, I know, it's only December, but it's never too early to speculate about the NBA draft. At about the quarter mark of the season, teams have separated themselves and fallen into the tiers that should hold through with few exceptions throughout the year. With a solid draft class class this year, this draft could have lasting implications on a large number of teams.

A Tale of Three Melos - The Ringer - Jason Concepcion
This solid write up by Jason Concepcion of The Ringer follows the character arc of NBA star Carmelo Anthony from his rise as "Olympic Melo" and his downfall as "Regular Melo," but could there be a new Melo on the rise? You'll have to find out for yourself.

LaMarcus Aldridge's Smart Work in San Antonio Is Being Rewarded - Sports Illustrated - Rob Mahoney
The 2017 playoffs where a struggle to say the least for San Antonio Spurs star LaMarcus Aldridge. It was even rumored that Spurs management was looking to move the big man for a top draft pick in this years draft, but to no avail. Despite all of that, an offseason meeting between Aldridge and coach Gregg Poppovich has reinvigorated the big man, who is off to his best start of his career.
How Bill Walton, Phil Jackson and Steve Kerr shaped Luke Walton - ESPN - Ohm Youngmisuk
As one of the NBA's youngest head coaches, it would be easy for the Lakers' Luke Walton to get overwhelmed trying to juggle a head coaching gig in a notoriously tough to please city and the most infamous NBA-parent. None of that has gotten to Walton thanks to early mentorship from some of the NBA's greatest coaches.

Ten things I Like and don't like, including the Bucks' tough choices - ESPN - Zach Lowe
Zach Lowe's articles will be a staple in this newsletter and there's good reason for it. Lowe is one of the best in the business in terms of actually analyzing teams and players and is a wealth of knowledge without having the "I know more than you" complex. This week's installment is no exception.
That's all for this week. Hope you enjoyed the picks this week. Would love your feedback on what you think of Swish Weekly. If you haven't already, follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook: We're @SwishWeekly everywhere!
