The Black Lagoon - Mérida State - Venezuela.

in #nature6 years ago

Hello Dear Steemians!

A few years ago, for the first time, we visited Mérida State - Venezuela with some friends, we walked through the main tourist attractions of the state, one of them is the Sierra Nevada Park.

I did not know about that park, one of the days we were there, when they woke up, they told me today we are going to the park, and as you will see in the pictures I wore berbodas and slippers hahahaha the only thing I was wearing was a coat! My friends did not tell me anything and when I arrived at the place that half a day towards sun but little by little the weather changed and the fog appeared (in my mind I went to another type of park) I ran to a craft stand and bought gloves and hat! We enjoyed the place we rode horses and we were in the Laguna de Mucubají, then we decided to go to the Laguna Negra, you can go on horses but we decided to go walking on the mountain and I with my shoe Grises hehehe

According to Wikipedia :

The Black Lagoon is located in the Sierra Nevada National Park, in the state of Merida of Venezuela at an altitude of 3480 meters above sea level. It is located several kilometers from the Mucubají lagoon, from which it is accessed by a path, and about 150 meters less than the same altitude. The Laguna Negra is one of the main tourist attractions of the state of Merida, and is striking for its dark color.

The lagoon is of glacial origin and occupies a small valley, shaped like a "V". It is one of the deepest in Venezuela, with a depth of up to 24 meters.1 It receives its waters from the La Corcovada stream and pours them into the Santo Domingo river, in the direction of the Atlantic Ocean.

As they observe, I took off my shoes to put my feet in the water that was frozen, it is a beautiful and dark place because of the lonely and sober place but it is still spectacular!

Legend:

Its almost black color is due to it is surrounded by steep slopes covered densely by little reddish colors that are reflected in the water. The mysterious aspect that produces the effect has given rise to legends that affirm that in her they inhabit goblins or other paranormal creatures. If the tranquility of the place is disturbed, these creatures get angry and cause fog or even storms that can lose people; It is also attributed to the lagoon itself to be able to make it suddenly darken, losing the way, it is to give fear, but they always find it.

We return before the fog covers the mountain and gets darker, undoubtedly Mérida always surprises us with its cold and changing climate and mountains of spectacular beauty.
