The Super Blue Moon Eclipse - First Time in 150 Years
The upcoming super blue blood moon eclipse is a super rare celestial event! This is a blue moon, a super moon AND a total lunar eclipse. This hasn't happened in over 150 years.

Breakdown of "super blue blood moon"
A blue moon is when two full moon happen in the same month.
A supermoon happens when the moon's perigee (it's closest approach to earth within a single orbit) coincides with a full moon.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes into Earth's shadow.
The Moon & Gardening
Farmers for centuries have used the moon to guide them on when to plant, when to harvest and so forth. The Harvest moon often involves celebrations and feasts that run late into the moonlight evening. People today still farm by moon phases. We try our best to plant our garden by the moon.
The easiest method of gardening by the moon is to plant annual plants during the waxing moon (When light is brightest) and biennial/perennial plants during the waning moon (when light is decreasing). The Moon & Our Emotions
Humans (and animals) are deeply influenced by moon energy. The moon can enhance our emotions which can have both positive and negative effects on our lives. My dog Mischa "Moon Howler" got her nickname because when there's a full moon it stirs her up and she can't rest. She will howl and bark at a full moon incessantly. I on the other hand, feel uplifted & calm and eager to soak in the moon's energy.
It's important to be mindful of our emotions when a full moon is present and to avoid conflict. Personally, when there is a full moon, I prefer to be in my own creative space where I can focus on the moon and enjoy it's presence. I tend to avoid crowded places and people in general and use this time for personal growth.
Regardless of your positive or negative emotions a full moon can be a time of creativity, meditation, reflection and healing. Take a walk beneath the moon and clear your mind and see what happens.

You are a sister after my own heart. You make me smile with similarities of thought and feeling. I knew about the Blue Moon coming, but hadn't heard about the eclipse. I put it on my callendar. Guess I'll be up at 4:30 mst. :) I have used an almanac for moon phases off and on over the years for everything from cutting hair to stop smoking. The tides ebb and flow don't they. Something about a full moon on crispy clean snow, that thrills me like a child. Thanks for the information
Thank you so much for sharing. I always feel so alone in my ways so your words are like a warm hug. We don't get a lot of clear skies, I am hoping for a crisp cold couple of days to take it all in. I leave my herbal infusions outside during a full moon (except for in winter of course) Small mindful rituals and being open to unconventional thinking is good soul food I think. I also think dancing beneath the moon is always a good thing to do, especially with loved ones :)

My son was talking about this lunar event just a couple of days ago. I love once in a lifetime up-in-the-sky events! Something about them makes me feel like I'm so lucky to live in the time I live in.
My gram always gardened by the moon. She doesn't really garden anymore, but she reminds me when it's time to plant or harvest. I have the same Old Farmer's Almanac that she has, but she reminds me anyway!
I am grateful too. Even thought I don't always feel like I belong in this time I am sure lucky to be here witnessing the awesomeness that is our planet and home.

The moon influences my whole family so drastically. We are all a bit neurotic in nature, and the full moon seems to enhance this and the anxiety and restlessness seems to hit us pretty hard. With that said, I love taking night walks and absorbing the glow of the moon. Everything in the forest is painted with it's light and the shadows so eery.
I can imagine that there's a lot of powerful energy in your house during the full moon. I know that some people don't look forward to it because of this. A nurse who works at the ER always tells me that full moons are always crazy at the hospital, she dreads them because of that.
I wonder if there is a way to harness and benefit from those amplified feelings?
Moon lit walks really do nourish us in some way, I am drawn outside instinctively. We live surrounded by wilderness and all the nocturnal forest sounds echo at night so I don't go for walks like I used to when living in town because I am chicken but I do sit on the porch and soak it in that way.
I used to run to the outhouse at night! lol the night sounds are so amplified. I was alway afraid the cougar was watching.
