I took all of these photos today.
This flower is blooming in this one small area of the native plant garden, notice in this photo there are also several yucca plants.
I think it is great that this flower has the potential to bloom January - December!

We have a lot haze from forest fires and it is keeping things a little cold. We need a couple good rains and than things will be perfect:)
Oh, darn, I forgot about the forest fires up your way! Well hopefully you will get the rains! We have had a couple of nice rainfalls in the last week which we are very thankful for! Most years, rain in August, is scarce in this part of Texas.
That is interesting that it has such a long blooming period @violetmed. Perpetual it seems.

Beautiful, delicate purple flowers. And the yucca plants... I lived in West Texas for awhile growing up and it seemed the yucca plants were all that bloomed and pretty much all that grew :)
Oh yes, lots of yucca in West Texas! I was born and raised in El Paso!
dang how big are those Yucca plants, 10 feet tall?? unless you were on the ground when you took the photo! lol. howdy this evening violetmed! wonderful photos, man..McKinney has alot of nature stuff don't they?
The yucca plants in the back are probably 7 feet tall!

Sometimes we give more importance to exotic or strange flowers, without realizing that wild flowers are also beautiful and do not beautify the garden and soul every day of the week. Beautiful images, @violetmed. As always!
