Moss Rose Loveliness
These flowers are growing in a test flower bed at
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.
This flower is also called portulaca.
Moss Rose/ Portulaca comes in many lovely shades!
It does need 6-8 hours of sun.
Also it is a very sturdy flower and drought tolerant.
Are you familiar with this flower?
Do you call it another name?
Have a Blessed Day!

Lovely place to hang out. :-)
Lovely blooms. I am always interested in the overlap between plants in Texas and California. Seems if it needs sun and is drought resistant. Someone is trying to grow it in California. I have seen plants similar to these but I think a slightly different variety.
Oh yes, people plant it in California! Any state that has a lot of sunshine and heat will be growing this flower in their yards and as a landscape plant!
These look to be a really pretty ground cover.
So many great photos!
I invite you to visit my profile, I would love to have your support. Thank you.
I have no idea name for this flower, sometimes ago I see red type around, I like the shot with mixed of red and yellow! Look so unique..
This was one of the first flowers I grew as a young bride in Louisiana decades ago. My husband brought home a basket of portulaca a few days ago for our Mexican garden.
Yes, they are a great flower because they are hard to kill!
Wow so beautiful flowers dear 😊 I also have this moss rose in my terrace garden, I have this in Orenge and pink colours and it blooms daily with lots of quantity. We call it "time lapse"also 😊 I think it's universal flower plant.
Don't miss my latest post, it's from my terrace garden
I don't think I've seen this flower before @violetmed.
I like the combination of the pink and yellow together. Very eye catching. 😊
Very nice mat of Portulac. We unfortunately grow wild Portulak, it does not blossom properly.
