Forests Buried By Dunes

A lone grain of sand might seem like a humble and harmless thing, but when it teams together in the hundreds of millions it can be a major environmental force. Although it may take many years, moving dunes can bury wetlands, forests, roads and in some parts of the world even entire villages. Here in the coastal dunes of Humboldt County forests have historically been buried for centuries by moving dunes.
