An incredible moose white was seen in the Province of Värmland, southwest of Sweden , while walking by a stream.
The scene was captured by the Swedish politician Hans Nilsson , who is passionate about nature and has a pastime taking pictures of landscapes and animals. Nilsson already knew of the existence of this white elk, and he set out to photograph it; After three years, he was finally able to capture these images of the extravagant specimen.

            It is not albinism 

Despite the appearance of the elk, its color is not the result of albinism , a genetic disorder that causes the reduction or absence of pigment in the skin, hair and eyes; However, the eyes of the elk do not have a pink hue, as is common in people and animals that suffer from this disorder.
It is likely that the condition of this white elk is due to a recessive gene that causes the animal to develop white fur.

Göran Ericsson , elk specialist in the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences infers that the population of white elk has increased in recent years. In an interview for National Geographic , the expert assured that the hunters have decided not to sacrifice these white moose ; this circumstance together with the lack of predators for these animals, with the exception of humans, may be the cause of the increase of individuals with this characteristic.

            And there is more 

Although the sighting of this specimen is the most recent, already had record of other white elk .
Last June, two white elk pups were taken in Norway , although the audiovisual material did not have the ideal quality to determine if they were white or albino.

In May, a white moose was seen in Canada, -where it is forbidden to hunt them because they are considered a sacred animal by the mi'kmaq tribe - and the photographs of the meeting turned viral.

According to the experts, the restrictions that the hunters themselves have imposed on the white elk hunting will contribute to increase the population of animals with this characteristic.
