African Fruit Beetle
This beetle is a huge problem in our drought ravished garden. It eats all the flowers on our potato bush, but a bigger problem is the fact that it lays its eggs in / on our compost heap and at the roots of plants and the larvae then eats the roots

As kids we would try to catch these beetles and they would shit on our fingers...
bwahahahaha ... there are big black ones which we used to catch and then tie cotton to their one big bacl leg and fly them like helicopters.
Wow, this animal looks very interesting, way bigger, than the beetles in Germany^^
But very bad for you, if they destroy your plants. :(
