is one of the customary rituals or processions in Acehnese culture. This tradition is usually done to ask for salvation, peace, and happiness in life. The Peusijuek tradition is one of the traditions that have existed since ancient times, and is still practiced today
an indigenous procession within the Acehnese culture that is still practiced today. This peusijuek tradition is practiced in almost all indigenous activities in the community life in Aceh. For example when starting a business, resolving disputes, disabling or completing the disaster, occupying a new house, celebrating graduation, dispatching and welcoming the coming of Hajj, returning family from overseas and still many more!
In rural peoples in Aceh peusijuek is a traditional procession that is quite common even for small things such as when buying a new vehicle or when they want to sow rice seeds in the fields. While for more modern urban communities this peusijuek tradition is only done in customary activities only, for example in the procession of customary marriage
