Exciting New Visitor to our Ranch a Mule Deer Buck

We have never had mule deer come onto the ranch property before. We always have an abundance of white tail deer which we immensely enjoy watching.

The Mule Deer are usually behind the ranch at higher elevations. We are thinking they might be coming down because of an increased wolf population. Our neighbor caught on video last fall a white wolf and a black wolf in the woods higher up the mountain.

Our new visitor comes all the way up to our porch deck eating the new dirt we had brought in to do landscaping around the house this summer. We are thinking maybe he is lacking some minerals and that is why he keeps munching on the dirt!

Mule deer have much larger ears and antlers than the white tail deer. Plus when the run they kind of bounce and bound away. Such fun to have this addition for our viewing pleasure.
