Mmm, berries! Wild finds on the side of the trail.

These are called black raspberries and where I live they're everywhere. In the summer they're good pickin'

It's just now coming into season for these guys. It's hard to collect a bunch of them but they're really tasty. They usually have 3 serrated leaves and the berries are unmistakable. They're hollow on the inside when you pull them off, it leaves the stem. Extremely delicious, but warning the seeds will get between your teeth. Nothing better on a hot summer day than delicious, healthy and free natural organic food.

Jelly?
or Jam...

You did a nice job in describing black raspberries. A lot of people get them mixed up with blackberries. But their cup shape, like a red raspberry, is so distinctive! And so delicious! :D

I'm practically an expert! That little detail wouldn't slip by me ;)

Not when you have been picking them, for sure! You know your black raspberries! :D

I say - Jam - all the way! Even with the seeds, black raspberry jam is hard to beat! 4 cups berries, 3 cups sugar, no pectin, just cook it slow until it thickens up. It's so delicious! They are one of my favorite berries! It's nice that you have so many around you! Happy berry picking!
