A Day in Central Texas...
We spent a good chunk of yesterday at Palmetto State Park in Gonzales, TX. Remembering my wife's uncle and enjoying the outdoors as he did.
The San Marcos River was teaming with wildlife from these little minnows to unidentified bigger creatures making ripples further out on the water...
As we were getting ready to head out this little fella (we think a broad banded water snake) decided to make an appearance! Uncle Dennis loved snakes so it was a very fitting goodbye!
The snake 🐍 is super cool. Is it poisonous?
Nope ( as long as it actually is a broad banded water snake haha) but they look similar to cottonmouths when they get a little bigger so they're killed fairly often from what I read...
Wow that river is active with wildlife... nice outing bud
