Oak Galls
There are a whole range of galls found on oak trees.
I believe this one is the Artichoke Gall (Andricus fecundator) on Oak (Quercus robur).
Galls are caused by chemicals injected by the larva of certain kinds of gall wasp in the family Cynipidae.
