Full Spectrum Video - Bats flying over skies at dawn with moon in background
I have noticed Bats flying around the skies around sunrise, they are very busy searching for bugs from the best I can tell. At times there were four or more of them in the sky at once. By the time the birds are coming out they disappear and wait for night again. The moon was out as well in its third quarter showing half of it.

Very cool footage.
Though, bats in the neighborhood of my adolescence were a problem – they would dive at us, snatching at our hair if we were out at night. They seemed to be drawn to those of us with product in our hair.

Oh wow, I have not had an encounter like that. Yeah that would bother me too! I have noticed if I throw things up in the air they sometimes fly by it or try to taste it. But they never come that close to me. Interesting story, thanks for sharing.
That was back in the days of mass quantities of mousse and hairspray for that truly big, big hair style! We always thought they were attracted by the scented hairsprays used back then.
@momzillanc
Yeah maybe that had an effect on them, or maybe the hair spray attracted bugs? Which then the bats were swooping down to eat? Hah i dont know...
You may be right… It may be the insects attracted by the hairspray, in turn attracting the bats.
Bats are neat creatures. We have a lot of bats here as well.
@cosmiccrimes
they sure are, ive encountered them in caves and they are always very relaxed. I like seeing them.
I like fruitbats they look like dogs with wings.
@cosmiccrimes
hah yeah they are mammals like us. I see what you mean.
Bats that fly very high
the atmosphere is quite quiet only the sound of bats flying and like the sound of crickets
good video @solominer
@santiintan
Yeah they were about 30 feet up near the tree line. Agreed the sound is good, no lawn mowers or sounds of cars is nice.
thanks much
Your welcome @solominer :)
Cool photos. Maybe you can get some video with a bit of zoom on them. :-)
@manorvillemike
I thought about it but, then I would get less bats in the frame, and when zooming in I loose light due to the aperture changing.
Nice shots of this creatures :)
@dedarknes
glad you like them, they were quite busy over the skies that morning.
