After the Rainfall

in #nature7 years ago

It had rained for several days. A few months of drought was resolved. I took a walk after the rainfall. Everything in the field was animated.

Kids threw Bicycles away on the road to jump into the water. I could remember that mind when I recalled my childhood. The humidity of the summer after the rainfall was very high.

Kids jumping into the stream were playing each other and catching fishes. Their moms were looking at their kids.

I took the pictures of the daddy and baby.

I saw some people were gathering under the bridge.

Families were preparing for lunch.

And the kids were enjoying playing in the water

One couple took a nap by the stream.

Some people were catching horn snails to eat

Everyone seemed happy.
I enjoyed happy day.

yummy, horn snails, like to eat that aswell ahha. fun for the kids!

Taking a nap near a flooding river... That seems pretty scary to me:(

But for sure very romantic. You see, the reaction of people to heavy rainfall really depends on the region where people live.

In the place were I used to live before (it's Minsk, Belarus), we never had the issue of draughts. We had enough rainfall, so the flooding was the kind of the issue that occurred from time to time.

The worst thing about the flood was indeed the property damage. Some parts of the city of Minsk are lower than the other and a lot of water can gather at such low areas. That would mean that is someone had parked his or her car there, after about an hour of thunderstorm the engine of the car would be completely covered with water.
Which is a horrible thing for the car, water damage is pretty expensive to repair.

Here is a picture of such area of Minsk and how it looks like after the flood (I think this picture was taken back in 2009):

Although I feel very sorry for all those car owners, there are still people who get to enjoy themselves on such a day :)

There were flood in Korea before
But climate seemed to be changed.
thank you for your comment

Actually I recall seeing on the news something about the floods in Korea not that long ago, maybe around a year ago. I quite vividly remember seeing pictures of landslides.

Yes, I've just Googled it, as it appears there were floods last October which left 32 people dead. That's very tragic.

Woww amazing place, Enjoy

Rain and waterways are so important in an agrarian economy - but now, perhaps, Korea is moving from dependance on agriculture to a more diversified economy.

You will see cities and towns always located near water because traditionally those were the arteries that supplied life to the urban centers.

What I see in your post, @slowwalker, is people seeking out the river simply for enjoyment and entertainment.

It's fortunate when water is easily accessible and the people can relax and enjoy a day in nature.

It also looks like you enjoyed yourself too, @slowwalker!
