Beginning of Autumn, Ipchu 立秋
I was waiting for the train on platform after work.
I could enjoy a few moments of evening breeze, which is quite unusal.
Why?
It is rare for me to be on this kind of outdoor platform in Seoul because most platforms are under ground.
You know what?
You sometimes don't see the sun at all all day if you take underground trains, enjoy shoppings at underground shopping malls, and ... you come out to see the moon on your way home after work after all. Terrible, huh? ^^
Anyway, you see the temperature?
It's probably quite lower than last week.
August 7 marks the beginning of Autumn, Ipchu 立秋 in Korea. On the traditional farming calendar in the past, it was regarded as the end of the summer and the beginning of the fall.
Even now that we live mostly in cities, people still remember this kind of seasonal changes marked on korean calendar and talk about weather changes.
"Today is Ipchu, did you know that?"
"I see. That's why I felt autumn breeze!"
I believe that it's a good thing to try to remind yourself such traditional ways sometimes.
Feeling the breeze, seaonal changes, sunshines, ....
To be close to NATURE.
Have a good day :)
