Lophophorus( National bird of nepal)

Lophophorus is the national bird of nepal which is popular for its colourful body. It is known as "Danphe" in Nepali. It scientific name is Lophophorus Impejanus. It belongs pheasant family. Male Lophophorus weigh about 2380 grams whereas female weigh about 2150 grams. Lophophorus are about 70cm long.This species is facing different types of problems from human like poaching which is causing great harm to this bird so, in some countries special conservative actions are taken to reduce the risk of being extinct. The main reason to poach these bird is due to their valuable crest. This bird has also been listed in threatened species from Bird Life international.
