Day 53

Made a few adjustments to the tadpole tank. I removed two of the PVC tubes in order to make cleaning easier, the three left are good enough until the zeolite I ordered arrives on Tuesday. After that, I'll be able to use a much smaller bag of zeolite (rather than the three in there currently) and not worry about the waste getting trapped in various nooks and crannies.

Additionally, I've moved the 8 large moss balls I had in the fully cycled main tank into the tadpole tank to hopefully introduce some ammonia converting bacteria. They'll be moved into the holding tank once I start placing froglets into it. Depending on how long the froglets will be staying, I may setup my spare filter in the 5 gallon for the time being with some spare media from the main tank's filter.

The most advanced tadpole (MAT) is currently at NF stage 63 and will likely have to be moved tomorrow into the five gallon holding tank (don't want to risk Squiggly and Strangelove being eaten). There are already half a dozen others who are soon to follow in the next week as well. Tomorrow, I'll finally know the schedule to send the froglets to the wholesaler since he gets back from his vacation on Monday.

Until that's sorted, I made sure to test the full range of water parameters yesterday for both the main tank and tadpole tank, it turns out I've been able to stabilize the water to be virtually the same, outside of the ammonia levels. This will allow me to just place ammonia free water straight from the main tank into the holding tank and not have to worry about messing around with the water parameters, as well as give me the option to place the froglets into a sectioned off area of the main tank without any shock concerns. Had to do the water testing after cleaning up the three tubes that broke when the test tube rack fell (joke's on you gravity, I have 29 spares!) I recommend making sure to buy a rack that actually holds the tubes properly.
