Day 10

The tadpoles are quite the voracious bunch! Managed to get some footage of them right after I put in their food. Since tadpoles are filter feeders, the food has to be powdered. I use Xenopus express™ Premium Tadpole Powder from xenopus.com. You mix it into a gallon of water and use a cup to put in a small amount daily. If they can't clean the water within 2 hours, you're putting in too much. After feeding, just put the gallon in the fridge (make sure to shake it before the next feeding).

I started out feeding 7.5ml of the 'tadpole suspension' (as xenopus express calls it) but have upped it to 10ml. I might try out 12.5ml later but for now, 10ml daily seems to be working. The tadpole suspension starts as a brown powder (finer than flour) but becomes green once the water is added to it. Smells a little bit like an Ensure nutrition shake to me, though based off of the ingredients in their frog food, I can't recommended a taste test!

Taste test!! Taste test!!! Hehehe

Nothing fills me with more confidence than them explicitly listing on the info sheet that there's no cow blood in it, haha.
