I have always loved looking at how the sun's light is reflected by the dew drops on the grass in the mornings, especially the open fields on the farm. One of the things I dreaded though, was going out and walking in it. It would always soak my shoes and socks and it also made the ball really slippery when we played rugby in the mornings.

Dew drops are formed when water in the air condenses on objects like grass and car roofs. Morning dew is formed as the night air cools making it more dense and the air more saturated with water vapor. Once the air is completely saturated it is able to condense. It condenses on cold objects as warm ones would cause the moisture to evaporate before it condenses into a water droplet. The more water condenses the bigger the droplets and the greater the spread of droplets on the surface of an object.

Some of the things that fascinate me about dew is that it forms on the tops of tress but never directly underneath them. They also form on spider webs which look really, really cool in the morning light. It is also hard to try to get a mouthful of dew without getting wet or messing it, because the moment you disturb the surface it is on, it just runs off, as if it was perfectly balanced on it.
