Sunday evening fishing trip

in #nature7 years ago (edited)

Recently the ice melted away from this little lake I like to fish in, there was still THICC ice less than two weeks ago, so I was pretty excited when I saw it was clear. I decided today was the day to break out the old fishing rod again

Also, I just want to mention at the start of the post that no fish were actually caught this time :c

I was greeted with rain when I arrived

All you need is a rod, knife and a beer. Don't listen to the LARPing wannabe wildmenn on youtube shilling all kinds of survival gear

When I was young I always liked to see what other people had in their set of lures, here is my box. It's mostly filled with useless hooks, as I've lost all the good ones letting them sink too deep and getting stuck in the bottom of rivers and lakes(In this area there are thousands of shallow lakes filled with trout)

I think it's time to go shopping again

The rain stopped the moment I was ready. Perfect timing!

After a while trying different hooks I decided to dig up some worms instead and try some passive fishing. Meanwhile I went on a little adventure

I've been here before and I remember from when I was young me and a friend found this old building in middle of nowhere. I had to take a look again

Nice, I found an old wrench, this is better than fish!

I think this building was a mining station at some point, as I found a crate labelled dynamite and various other equipment here when I was young

I fell for the panorama meme

Because the fish outplayed me this time, I heated up some soup instead, very tasty!(I used a gas burner because everything was wet and I was very close to my car, pls no hate).

I find it's always rewarding to get out and listen to the sounds of the forest, look at wildlife and being alone with my thoughts. Anyway, thanks for taking a look at my post. If you have any suggestions or questions I'd be happy to reply :)

I so wish that I would go fishing in the near time!! Too bad that my husband doesn't like the smell of fishes, ha-ha. Nice content!

I love fishing too! Peaceful and nice pics!

Nice post. Getting skunked is just a part of fishing. Nice that you could still share the story. Upvoted and following
