¿Qué es?

La Sarracenia es una planta carnívora.
El proceso de captura a sus presas es el siguiente:La Sarracenia tiene un receptáculo donde caen los insectos y al querer salir, no pueden debido unos pelos invertidos (Sarracenia) o porque chocan contra manchas traslúcidas que piensan que son salidas (Darlingtonia californica), con lo que caen agotados al fondo de la trampa y se ahogan en el liquido digestivo. Ahí la planta absorbe las sustancias necesarias para sobrevivir y el resto del insecto se va descomponiendo poco a poco.

¿Qué necesita?

Esta planta necesita tener el suelo siempre húmedo, se tiene que regar diariamente pero sin excederse, si no está en la naturaleza, es decir, está en casa, es preferible que la reguemos con agua destilada ya que el agua embotellada puede ser perjudicial y más la del grifo que contiene cloro...
En cuanto al sol, necesita bastante pero es aconsejable ponerla alguna lona o algo parecido porque si le da directamente en las horas más fuertes de sol puede abrasarla.

Cómo llegó a mi vida

Un amigo viajó a Texas, Estados Unidos, lugar de origen de ésta planta. Cuando él regresó me entregó unas semillas de Sarracenia y cuando llegué a casa las planté. Desde el día que empezaron a crecer se iban convirtiendo en mi planta favorita hasta hoy que siguen en el primer puesto.

How it came to my life

A friend traveled to Texas, United States, place of origin of this plant. When he came back he gave me some seeds of Sarracenia and when I got home I planted them. From the day they began to grow they were becoming my favorite plant until today that they continue in first place.
