The recycling of waste paper, newspaper, cardboard etc to produce attractive Eco-friendly items contributes greatly in reducing environmental pollution, reduce cost of buying papers as well. As such recycling constitutes a major component in modern waste management approach as (reduce, reuse and recycle).

We should therefore be all concerned about our environment being polluted everyday, and endeavor to check as well as limit our actions that leads to environmental degradation. It was fascinating seeing what Funmi Adubi, is doing in the field of waste paper recycling.
However, recycling of papers can be carried out as follows;

• Make a deckle and mould,
• Cut papers into shreds and soak overnight, liquidize it to a pulp.
• Arrange the deckle above the mould,
• Add the pulp to water in a shallow dish and mix thoroughly. Place the deckle and mould edge-wise into the pulp/water mixture, then allow it to settle.
• Lift the deckle and mould out from the mixture so that surplus water drains off.
• Empty the newly formed sheet of paper unto a square of dampened felt.
• Hand dry between felt and iron on cloth, then on its own. Paper is then ready for use, contributing in reducing the quantity of waste papers on our environment as well as cleaning this beautiful and lovely planet of ours. A clean and sustainable environment will contribute in guaranteeing a good health , clean air, water, food etc as well mitigating climate change which is just by our door step. Artists in some countries now have taken up that initiative to impact change in their various communities by recycling waste papers to produce Eco-friendly items which are very attractive. A case in point is the project of Funmi Adubi, a Nigerian artist taking the lead in this aspect, as such we should join hands together so as to save our environment from rapid degradation as well as clean our planet as it is the only one that supports life.
