THE DAM AT MAMMOTH SPRING

Lots of water pouring over this thing!

The actual spring had a bit of a reservoir that it flowed into before it spilled over this dam. At one point, it was used to generate power, but these days, it just sits idle, which is peculiar to say the least. The dam still made for some good photos.

Below the dam is where the Spring River begins. It is fifty seven miles long and has been referred to as the state's most dependable natural stream. Trout and Walleye are some of the top species. Hopefully I'll be able to cast some lines in it one day.
