Road of waterfalls. Baños. Ecuador.

in #nature7 years ago

Baños is a small town, amazing in its stunning landscapes. It is surrounded on all sides by more than fifty waterfalls. Along the gorge of the Andes, flowing along its bottom of the river Pastas (Río Pastaza), winds a serpentine road, which is also called the road or avenue of waterfalls. It lies in a picturesque area.

The waterfall of Manta de la Novia consists of two waterfalls. Its height is about 40 meters. There are many approaches to it: on a suspension bridge or you can make a one hour walk.

The largest waterfall in this area is the Pailon del Diablo waterfall. Its height exceeds 100 meters. It is one of the ten highest waterfalls in the world.

In front of the entrance to its territory there is a restaurant with a splendid view of the mountains and the booming sounds of the nearby waterfall. You can also admire the view of the waterfall by going over the suspension bridge.

The encircled stone trail with several species platforms leads those who wish to go directly to the waterfall, each site having a different degree of proximity to it.

On some you can look at the waterfall from a distance and barely get covered by the moisture emanating from its stream, and on others you can approach it closely and get wet before the thread. The highest point of enjoyment is to be behind a waterfall and to feel the full force of the falling stream.

You can get there by a special tunnel in the rock, reminiscent of tiny caves, so sometimes you have to crawl through them crawling.

The next waterfall is Cascada del Rocío or his other name is Machay. Its height is about 70 meters.

On the way, you can enjoy exotic flora and fauna, as well as opening picturesque landscapes.

Baños is a city for rest and recuperation. Jungle, waterfalls, thermal springs, in honor of which the city itself was named.
