Walls and how people respond to them
Location: Playa Chiquita de Puerto Viejo Talamanca, Limon Costa Rica.
Last week, the generally sleepy pueblo of Playa Chiquita awoke to this protest against the imbalances and destruction of nature being witnessed by the community. It was met with anger, surprise and collusion; a real mis-match of opinions and directions. Everyone agreed that vandalism is wrong and everyone agreed that the disrespect and destruction of Nature is wrong. Yet, how do we balance these incongruence?
COEXIST, what does it mean? "Coexist is to to exist together or at the same time."
How do we do that? Yikes, a difficult task in modern times.
What does "Coexist" mean to you? And is it something you desire for your community.

Someone made a humorous video and uploaded it to youtube, with a version of Pink Floyd's The Wall overlayed.
This 100 meter plus wall in a sleepy jungle pueblo of about 500 people has sparked so much controversy in the community . But this is what happens, when people from outside come in and the first thing that they do is to build walls to keep others out, including the native animals and migratory birds. Not to mention the rapid and thoughtless destruction of the rain forest. We need to ask: "Walls shut who out, and who in?"
